Living Systems Thinking Workshop

“The Living System Thinking approach is one of great wisdom and practical application. When we are working in the field of sustainability we are growing businesses organically which requires natural steps and organic processes.  Living systems survival depends on diversity - this is a basic building block and one that capitalism has ignored.. The Tipu Ake ki te Ora Organic Leadership Model reinforced for me, that my thinking is in flow with the Living Systems approach and those of us that feel the connection with nature understand this empirical knowledge. Based on the principles of collaboration and through guidance and mastery we can redirect the traffic. We can only do this together as a breathing living network so join the club, it's free and it’s based on mutual support and generosity.”
Miranda Brown of Miranda Brown Conscious Cloth  who attended in June 2010

Emma and I attended the two day 'Living Systems Thinking' workshop.
It was exactly the springboard we needed to move our current community project up to the next steps and beyond! Our systems are now far more polished and we feel incredibly confident about our impending public presentation. With all of the strategies we learnt so rapidly through Peters poignant teachings, and particularly his focus on the outcomes of the project at hand, we feel we can easily conquer the workload ahead decisively and effectively.
A most highly recommended course in a comfortable and stimulating group learning environment.

After exposure to the TipuAke framework through the two day Living Systems Thinking course run by Peter Goldsbury - your life will never be the same! You will have confidence to put forward your ideas/project/business or strategic plan. It will lead to a greater understanding of why and how we can use our networks better and improve real outcomes. There is the opportunity to be revitalised with fresh ideas and insight, as well as critical comment in a neutral environment. The workshop has relevance for business and community participants and the skills learnt can been used the next day.

After completing the Living Systems Thinking management workshop I want to say this is a really valuable tool in bringing about the system changes we are all looking for. Peter has a lot of knowledge about managing collaborative projects and is looking to share it with organisations around the country. An opportunity not to be missed!! Participant from Kiwi Youth Voice July 07

We thoroughly enjoyed your workshop - I am so glad we both made the decision to attend. It has been by far the most valuable workshop I have undertaken. You presented well and the dynamics of the room were great! The benefits of the information shared at the workshop have opened our minds up - there is such a huge need for your innovative workshop within community organisations. I wish everyone could attend. "Many thanks Peter for an excellent Leading Innovative Programs course which I can recommend wholeheartedly to everyone. It is not just for aspiring project managers but also a valuable model for everyone wanting to be involved in their community in a positive way. It can even be applied personally to how you live and what you want to do in your own life." Janine May - Taranaki Environment Centre May 2009.

PMSkills Workshop - Leading Collaborative Projects:

"I expected to gain a more in depth understanding of project management; I came away with more than I had anticipated - excellent knowledge. The group reflection was good; looking at things from a higher level and working in groups" - Devonport March 08

"Most valuable... distinctions useful, Outputs vs Outcomes, Leadership vs Management. Would recommend it to colleagues as it would be useful as a regular refresher for experienced PM's. People who could benefit include Analysts, Managers, Support/Corporate Coordinators and it could be used for new project teams to help them focus on the top down view etc - Well April 2007

"Great Course, very practical and timely for my job. Two days allowed time for reflection. The content was a good balance of practical and theory / academic basis. Very relevant for Policy people" - Well April 2007

"The collaborative nature of the workshop helped me think outside my own industry / job to see other ways of thinking. Something similar ( but catered for our company) should be given at my workplace for all PM's to benefit from. I would like to implement some of the tools learnt on our company wide intranet PM tool" Well April 2007

"I have just completed the PM Skills workshop with Peter and it was a phenomenal experience. The approach that is used is simple to understand and easy to apply to the business world! My background is in Information Technology, Teaching, Management and Law. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this fantastic offer as it fundamentally changed my life. - Thanks Peter for the opportunity". Participant from Excelerator University of Auckland Young Leadership Programme July 07

Very practical for people with or without experience in PM. Great shared learning within the team, tutor encouraged shared experience and knowledge. "

" I started from a position of not knowing much. I had a few instinctive ideas - The course validated some of my ideas and gave me heaps of new ideas and tools"

"Relevant to the needs of the real world, sufficiently advanced to stretch my thinking and consider new ideas in PM".

"The thought leadership of in the area of viewing how an organisation really operates was excellent. The Tipu Ake model helps gives a framework that encompasses all of life, not just work"

"I enjoyed the chance to explore new ideas and to get a framework to manage my ideas without being constrained by it - e.g. Tipu Ake"

"I was looking for a course like this that covered all the basics and gave me the inspiration to go and do some further research / thinking on my own"

"Excellent – lots of sharing and insight. Liked how we spent the first day getting a bigger overview before going into “heavy” stuff". - Well Nov 2004

"Logical order from initiation of project to, and stages of, during and managing project" - Well Nov 2004

"The course was informal and I felt comfortable sharing thoughts amongst the group" - Well Nov 2004

PM++ Workshop - Leading Innovative Programs ( now displaced by Living Systems Thinking workshop)

This workshop met my goal - Building on the previous (PMSkills) workshop, learning more about Tipu Ake and finding more gold nuggets to use in my project management role.

I really enjoyed the structure and process of the workshop. Thanks Peter, this approach to PM is very easily applied and has given me a greater understanding of behaviours vs process / structure.

A great workshop - would recommend it to others. (Wellington Nov 2005 participant)
